A quick story: My friend Mei-i and I were taking a morning walk along the beach in Santa Barbara when we came across this lifeguard station. I hopped up and we took some quick pics. Because who can resist a great photo-op? As I was getting down, I heard a woman saying, “Excuse me! Excuse me!” Thinking someone was going to yell at me for being up there, I ignored her and quickly came down the stairs. Then she said, “Could you take a picture of me?”
Turns out, the voice belonged to Molly, a woman who wanted her picture taken in the exact spot I had just hopped down from. I happily obliged and learned that she had recently moved to SB and it was her 76th birthday that day. She said that she had been waiting and hoping someone would take her picture for her.
When I got back to New York, I uploaded the pictures onto my computer and sent them to her. She wrote back with a sweet note saying that I made her day. Are you kidding me? She made MY day.
