I always struggle when it comes to picking out a dress to wear to a wedding. Often, I’ll find the dress first, and then plan the rest of the outfit. This time around, things went differently.

I nearly died when I saw these shoes at Topshop; I literally had to pick my jaw up off of the ground. I fell head over heels (pun intended) for these fringe beauties. I loved them so much, I almost didn’t care what else I wore. But, then reality set in and I knew I couldn’t wear my favorite pajamas to a beautiful outdoor fête in Santa Barbara, California.

Knowing I needed to play my cards right, I turned to ASOS. Keep in mind that I’m not a fan of online shopping. It stresses me out and I find the whole process to be pretty annoying. And annoying it was: when I received the dress, I couldn’t zip it up over my ribcage. No problem, I thought. I’ll just exchange it for another size. Unfortunately, the next size up was sold out. If I hadn’t had my heart set on the heels, I would’ve easily gotten another dress. But. I. Needed. To. Wear. These. Shoes.

I started to check ASOS on a daily basis. Well, more like hourly. I just kept hitting the refresh button and hoping for a miracle. After about a week of searching, the fashion gods smiled upon me and there was one dress available in the next size up. (Insert choir music here.) And the rest is history.
