Zara top and skirt, Boutique 9 Justine pumps, Akira clutch, Lorac lipstick in Show Girl, Essie nail polish in Chinchilly
Isabel Marant (a.k.a. queen of the sneaker wedge) recently stated, “I prefer to spend a lot of money on the right piece instead of owning lots of things that are not of good quality.” This quote definitely comes to mind as I think about the items in my closet that were the right pieces this summer. Take this outfit for example: I bought all of these pieces years ago and yet, this summer, they were worn at the following places: a popular lounge in NYC, a bachelorette weekend in East Hampton, and a birthday dinner out at a trendy restaurant.
I never would have imagined that neon pumps, a studded top and a fringe skirt would outlive trends, seasons and many fashion weeks in NYC but they have. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve posted this exact outfit a handful of times. And you know what? I love it so much, I’m not even embarrassed to repeat it. (Hey, if the Duchess herself wears the same thing more than once, so can I.)
