DSC03055You’re probably wondering why I’m writing about reinforcement labels on a fashion blog. I had them in my desk at work and I thought I’d try my hand (no pun intended) at some nail art.  My cousin Jayne was visiting NYC over the weekend and suggested I try a reverse French manicure. So… that’s what I did. Read on to see my step by step tutorial!

DSC03051Step One: After applying a clear base coat, paint your nails the color you want at the bottom of your nail (This is the color that will form the little rainbow).

DSC03059Step Two: When your nails are completely dry, apply the stickers at the base of your nails. This step is tricky because you want the little rainbows to be pretty equal in height. I had to try this a few times before I got it right. Side note: My nails match my rug! Totally didn’t plan that.

DSC03061Step Three: Paint your nails the color you want above the rainbow. Don’t worry about being messy, as my nails CLEARLY are. That’s what the stickers are there for. The excess nail polish can be cleaned up later.

DSC03063Step Four: When the top polish is dry, remove the stickers from one side of the nail to the other. And voila! Add a clear coat on top and you’re all set!

DSC03065I had a blast doing this and I can’t wait to experiment with different colors and types of polish. I hope this was helpful and I’d love to see how your nails turn out! Happy nail painting!
